Fatal Shooting in Linköping: Police Hunt for Suspects

Fatal Shooting in Linköping

A man in his 30s has been shot dead in Linköping. Police are now searching for suspects, but no arrests have been made yet.

"A neighbor living nearby heard several shots," says Thomas Thorsén, who resides in the area.

At 4:40 PM on Tuesday, police were alerted to a shooting in the Skäggetorp district of Linköping.

A man in his 30s was found injured inside a building. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved.

"It is being investigated as a murder, but no one has been arrested. We remain at the crime scene, which is still cordoned off," says police spokesperson Mats Pettersson.

A technical investigation is underway, and door-to-door inquiries are being conducted.

"We have conducted a large number of interviews, and there are also cameras in Skäggetorp from which we are now analyzing the footage," says Mats Pettersson.

"Cordoned Off Almost Everywhere"

Thomas Thorsén was at home with his wife when he suddenly heard sirens and saw blue lights outside.

"That's when we realized something had happened. A neighbor living nearby heard several shots," he says.

They were confined to their home and advised to follow instructions from the officers on site.

"It's cordoned off almost everywhere," says Thomas.

The shooting has also left its mark.

"It feels unsafe when it comes so close," says Thomas.
