Zelensky Warns of Putin's War Plans at the UN, Claims Divine Protection for Trump

Zelensky warns of Putin's war plans in his speech at the UN. He also claims that Trump is under divine protection.

Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a speech on Wednesday at the UN General Assembly in New York. Since the disastrous meeting at the White House earlier this year, the Ukrainian president has been striving to gain the American president's support.

During the speech, Zelensky continued to flatter, suggesting that Trump is under God's protection.

– Yesterday, President Trump stood here in this hall, and God saved him from an assassination attempt during the campaign. A shot was fired from a rifle, and only a fraction of an inch saved his life, said Zelensky during the speech, referring to the assassination attempt on Trump last summer.

He also mentioned the murder of American right-wing figure Charlie Kirk and his funeral.

Warned About Putin

During the speech, Zelensky also warned that "Putin will continue to expand and deepen the war" unless more is done to stop him.

Zelensky repeatedly stated that weapons and military strength are needed to preserve peace in Europe.

– We are living in the most destructive arms race in human history, said Zelensky during the speech.

He mentioned the danger of drones and how Russia uses them to expand the war.

– There are no security guarantees, except friends with weapons.

In the now-frozen attempts to initiate peace talks with Russia, discussions have been held about what security guarantees Ukraine would receive in the event of a ceasefire.

Zelensky also said that Europe cannot afford to lose Moldova to Russian influence. On Sunday, Moldova goes to the polls, and many are worried that the Kremlin will try to influence the election.

Trump: Ukraine Can Take Back Everything

Since Trump met Putin in Alaska earlier in August, American attempts at peace negotiations have stalled.

When Trump spoke with Zelensky at the UN building on Tuesday, it was clear that he supports Ukraine.

"Ukraine, with support from the European Union, has the opportunity to fight and WIN back all of Ukraine in its original form," Trump wrote on Truth Social after the meeting.

Zelensky did not comment on that statement during the speech.

Trump also criticized Russia, describing the country as a "paper tiger" that, with its weak economy, cannot qualify as a superpower. The Kremlin bristled and responded that the country is rather "a real bear."
