Kristersson Labels Russia an 'Economic Dwarf with Nuclear Weapons'

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) refers to Russia as 'an economic dwarf with nuclear weapons.' While he views Trump's recent comments on Russia positively, he remains unconvinced.

In an interview with SvD, Ulf Kristersson expresses skepticism following the American president's remarks on Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday, where Trump suggested that Ukraine has a good chance of winning the war and reclaiming its land.

  • 'Of course, it's good. However, my more reserved stance is that words are good, but it's actions that count. We therefore want to see this followed by clear European and American sanctions against Russia,' he tells SvD.

Kristersson: 'Their Major Weakness'

In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump criticizes the Russian economy, suggesting that ordinary Russians, forced to queue in vain at gas pumps, will turn against the war. He also calls Russia a 'paper tiger.'

Kristersson agrees with Trump's description of the Russian economy.

  • 'How does it affect Putin? Very hard to say. The economy is their major weakness. It's an economic dwarf with nuclear weapons. The more we can shrink that economy, the better,' Kristersson tells the newspaper.
