Vincent Lundstedt Sentenced to Life for Double Murder

Vincent Lundstedt, 20, who had no prior criminal record, murdered two men in an apartment in Norrköping. He has now been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Göta Court of Appeal.

Police received the first reports of gunfire in an apartment shortly after midnight on Tuesday, June 3, 2024.

When the first patrol arrived, they found two men murdered in the apartment, shot with an automatic rifle. Autopsy reports show the victims were hit by at least seven shots each, including headshots at close range.

Vincent Lundstedt was arrested just minutes after the alert, about a kilometer away, while riding an electric scooter. He was carrying a blue Ikea bag containing a magazine belonging to the weapon found near the crime scene.

It was determined after his arrest that Vincent Lundstedt was under the influence of Tramadol, which he claimed to have taken "to calm down."

Vincent Lundstedt's DNA was found on both the automatic rifle and the magazine, and blood and fabric fibers from him were discovered in the murder apartment. When arrested, he also had a cut on his knee and injuries on one hand. Police also found gunshot residue on his clothes and gloves.

The district court found the collective evidence "beyond reasonable doubt" strong enough to establish that Vincent Lundstedt was the perpetrator, and he was therefore sentenced to life imprisonment in May this year. The two other men involved, both 19 at the time of the murders, were acquitted of aiding and abetting murder in the district court.

The verdict was appealed, and on Friday, the Göta Court of Appeal announced that Vincent Lundstedt will be sentenced to life imprisonment. One of the 19-year-olds was simultaneously sentenced to 12 years in prison for aiding and abetting murder.

According to the Court of Appeal, there is no doubt that the murders are linked to the ongoing gang conflict in Norrköping.
