Tragedy Strikes as Chihuahua Killed by Two Large Dogs

Lovisa was on a walk with her newborn daughter and chihuahua Diesel when two larger dogs suddenly attacked and killed Diesel. – I still find it very difficult to pass the place, I'm afraid they will come again and jump on our little child.

Lovisa, 26, and her family had just moved to their new home in Marks Municipality when the usual lunchtime walk turned into a nightmare.

Lovisa had her three-week-old baby in a carrier when Diesel was suddenly attacked.

– Suddenly, two huge dogs jumped out and started biting Diesel on the back. They ran around my legs, causing me to fall to the ground with my daughter, but I quickly got up.

Lovisa describes that Diesel died quickly then and there, she listened to see if he had any heartbeat left. Diesel had not yet turned one year old.

“People Must Be Better at Taking Care of Their Dogs”

Lovisa is still shaken by the incident and describes it as a nightmare replaying in her head.

– I still find it very difficult to pass the place, I'm afraid they will come again and jump on our little child. It doesn't feel safe to have them nearby, I hardly dare to go out.

Lovisa describes the dogs as “wolf-like” and believes they escaped due to inadequate fencing.

P4 Sjuhärd spoke with the owner of the attacking dogs. She says she forgot to close the garden gates – and that the 65-kilogram dogs escaped.

– I'm not afraid of them at all, those who know them are not afraid of them. I've heard from neighbors who don't like dogs that they think I take care of them exemplary, she tells the radio station.

Police Investigate the Incident

She says she cannot undo it and feels very bad about what happened.

The incident is now being investigated by the police.

Lovisa hopes this can lead to authorities regulating more strictly who can have which dogs.

– People must be better at taking care of their dogs, not just anyone should be able to have any dog, says Lovisa.
