Svenska Spel is still trying to reach the person who won 409 million kronor on Friday evening. Here's how they are attempting to contact the winner.
"It has actually never happened that we haven't been able to reach the winner," says Filippa Jartén, press communicator at Svenska Spel.
Svenska Spel has made about ten calls to the sole Eurojackpot winner.
Despite this, they have yet to receive a response.
"There could be various reasons, such as being away, having the phone turned off, or not answering because it's an unfamiliar number," says Filippa Jartén, press communicator at Svenska Spel.
However, it's not uncommon for it to take a few days to reach the winner.
"Sometimes it has certainly taken a week before we've made contact," says Filippa Jartén.
May Send a Letter
Svenska Spel is prepared to go to great lengths to find the winner. If necessary, a home visit might be considered, they say.
"If we can't reach them by phone, we sometimes send letters, so that would be the next step. But we will continue calling for a few more days first."
Third Largest in Swedish History
Friday evening's Eurojackpot win of 409,505,916 kronor is the third largest in Swedish history.
The largest occurred in March this year when someone won 1.25 billion kronor. The next largest happened six years ago when a couple in Örebro County won 562 million kronor.
Eurojackpot is a European lottery game where companies in 18 different countries collaborate. To win, you need to match 5 numbers out of 50 possible and 2 out of 12 star numbers. During the draw, 5 numbers and 2 star numbers are drawn.
