Suspected Arson in Örebro: Young Man Arrested

Police and emergency services were alerted to an explosion in an apartment building in Örebro on Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, police confirmed it was a fire. A man in his 20s has been arrested following the incident.

The alarm about the explosion in the apartment building came at 5:44 PM, prompting the response of emergency services and police. When the fire department arrived at 5:50 PM, they encountered a smoke-filled stairwell. The fire was extinguished.

– It is still unclear what exploded; we are working to find out, says police spokesperson Rasmus Eriksson.

Investigated as Attempted Aggravated Arson

On-site, police confirmed it was a fire in an apartment. A report of attempted aggravated arson has been filed.

– We have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the scene, says Rasmus Eriksson of the police.

One person has been taken to the hospital, according to P4 Örebro. The person's condition is unknown.
