
SAS Flight Makes Emergency Landing in London
A SAS flight en route to Stockholm from the Canary Islands made an emergency landing in London. – A passenger fell ill during the journey, says Rikard Steinholtz, press spokesperson at SAS.
The plane was traveling from Las Palmas on Gran Canaria to Stockholm.
– A passenger fell ill during the journey, and it was assessed that the passenger needed medical care that could not wait until the final destination, says Steinholtz.
Therefore, the aircraft was redirected and landed at Heathrow Airport in London.
At 8 PM on Thursday evening, the plane had just landed, and the passenger is now receiving medical care.
Unclear When Passengers Can Fly Again
SAS is now reviewing how the other passengers on the plane will continue to Stockholm. When this can happen is unclear, according to Rikard Steinholtz.
– Heathrow is a high-traffic airport, but work is ongoing now. At present, I have no information on whether it will be today or later tomorrow morning.
