Rasmus Giertz's Campaign Blunder: Wrong Election Date Promoted

Rasmus Giertz, a politician from the Sweden Democrats, mistakenly promoted the wrong date for the church election in Falun. The campaign slogan urged voters to support him on September 29, although the election is on September 21. The error was attributed to a graphic design mistake and has since been corrected. Additionally, Giertz was involved in a past nightclub incident, which was caught on film, where he allegedly pushed a man and used inappropriate language.

Rasmus Giertz's Campaign Blunder: Wrong Election Date Promoted

Rasmus Giertz (SD) Campaigns with Wrong Election Date

The Sweden Democrats' politician Rasmus Giertz is promoted by his party as the right choice for the church election—but on the wrong day.

"Mark the cross by the right man. Vote for Rasmus Giertz in the church election on September 29."

With this slogan, Rasmus Giertz is launched as the top candidate for the Sweden Democrats in Dalarna for the church council in the Falun parish.

However, the church election is not held on September 29, but on the 21st.

Rasmus Giertz, currently a member of parliament and chairman of SD Dalarna, wrote in an email:

"There must have been a mistake with our graphic designer, I will pass on the information so it can be corrected."

After contact, the advertisement was removed from SD Dalarna's Instagram.

Pushed and Shouted "Bitch"

In June, Expressen revealed that Rasmus Giertz pushed a man while shouting "bitch" inside a nightclub in Borlänge in 2022. In police interviews related to a later dropped assault investigation, Rasmus Giertz denied the incident occurred, but it was captured on film that Expressen obtained.

"That particular word is not one I usually use, and it is, of course, inappropriate. It seems it was probably a situation where he and I were joking with each other."
