The Court of Appeal has reduced the sentence of Andreas Holm, known as 'Nytorgsmannen', from five to four years in prison. Convicted of multiple sexual offenses, including the rape of a 17-year-old girl, Holm's sentence was lowered due to a reassessment of the crime's severity. Despite the reduction, Holm will serve additional time for previously suspended sentences.

Nytorgsmannen Andreas Holm's Sentence Reduced by Court of Appeal
Last summer, the district court convicted Nytorgsmannen Andreas Holm for crimes including the rape of a 17-year-old girl and secretly filming numerous women and girls. Now, the Court of Appeal has reduced his sentence from five to four years in prison.
Andreas Holm, who has since changed his name to Fredrik Lundgren, is considered one of Sweden's most notorious sex offenders.
In 2021, he was sentenced to five years in prison for a total of 35 sexual offenses, including severe rapes. The crimes mainly took place in his residence at Nytorget in Stockholm, earning him the media nickname 'Nytorgsmannen'.
Last summer, he was sentenced by the district court to five years in prison for several new sexual offenses. The most serious of these was the rape of a 17-year-old girl, whom he also supplied with drugs and alcohol.
In the summer's verdict, Nytorgsmannen was also convicted of 35 counts of sexual harassment for secretly filming under skirts and dresses of a large number of women and girls.
Reason for Sentence Reduction
The verdict was appealed, and on Wednesday, the Court of Appeal announced its decision. He is again convicted of the crimes but receives a reduced sentence of four years in prison.
In a press release, the Court of Appeal stated:
"The severity of the rape is somewhat lower than the district court assessed. The 38-year-old is sentenced to four years in prison for the collective criminality. The Court of Appeal also confirms that the previously conditionally granted freedom is to be fully revoked, meaning the man will also serve that time in prison, over 20 months."
The prosecutor had argued that Andreas Holm should be convicted of aggravated rape due to suspicions that he not only offered the 17-year-old girl alcohol before the rape but also drugged her.
The courts determined that it was not proven that the glass contained anything other than alcohol, leading to the conclusion that he was guilty of a rape of normal severity.
