Notorious 'Nytorgsmannen' Andreas Holm Sentenced Again for Rape

Six months after his release from prison, 'Nytorgsmannen' Andreas Holm committed another rape. He is also convicted of several other sexual offenses. Today, he is sentenced to five years in prison.

Andreas Holm, who now goes by Fredrik Lundgren, is one of Sweden's most notorious sex offenders.

In 2021, he was sentenced to five years in prison for a total of 35 sexual offenses, including aggravated rapes, offensive photography, and child pornography crimes. Most of the crimes occurred at his home near Nytorget in Stockholm, earning him the nickname 'Nytorgsmannen' in reports.

He is now convicted again for several sexual offenses, including the rape of a 17-year-old girl.

He is also convicted of providing alcohol to the girl who was raped, transferring small amounts of narcotic substances to the girl and another girl under 18, and for sexual harassment for secretly filming under skirts, dresses, and shorts of numerous women and girls.

He was convicted of 35 counts of sexual harassment.

In some cases, the filming resulted in the production of child pornography, for which he is also convicted.

Moved to Skåne – Arrested Again

After serving two-thirds of his sentence, Andreas Holm was conditionally released in the spring of 2024, despite the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's assessment of a high risk of reoffending. He was then prohibited from staying in his old neighborhood in Stockholm and moved to Skåne.

The prosecutor wanted the rape to be classified as aggravated, as the man mixed drugs and medication in the alcohol he offered the girl. However, the district court does not believe the prosecutor has proven that there was anything other than alcohol in the drink offered to the girl and assesses the crime as rape of normal severity.

  • It is a serious rape with a high penalty value, but the circumstances are not so aggravating that it should be considered aggravated rape, says Judge Linda Palmenäs, chair of the case, in a press release.

Lund District Court also decides that the conditionally granted freedom should be revoked, meaning the man must serve that time in prison as well.

  • The man has quickly relapsed into criminality similar to what he was previously convicted for. Therefore, the conditionally granted freedom should be revoked, says Linda Palmenäs.
