Mystery Surrounds Deaths of Swedish and Australian Tourists in Thailand
A Swedish tourist has been found dead in Thailand. Just two hours later, another tourist was discovered dead in the same apartment building. Police are now investigating possible connections between the mysterious deaths, reports the newspaper Khaosod.
A property manager in an apartment building in the city of Pattaya, Thailand, found the Swedish man dead in the bathroom. According to Thai sources, the man was 38 years old.
According to the property manager, the man had been living alone in the apartment since May and was soon to move out.
The water tap was still running, and there was blood on the floor. However, there were no signs of a struggle in the apartment, according to Khaosod.
Surveillance cameras show a woman entering the apartment the night before the man was found dead. She reportedly left the apartment the same evening with a bag in hand.
Police are now searching for the woman, whom they suspect may be connected to the Swede's mysterious death.
No Connection Ruled Out
Two hours after the Swede was found dead, the property owner discovered another dead man—a 54-year-old Australian—lying lifeless on the floor two floors up. Around the man were a shattered glass and several medicine bottles, but again, there were no signs of a struggle.
So far, police have not found any connection between the two deaths but have not ruled it out.
"We are conducting a thorough investigation. Even though the cases initially seem unrelated, the fact that both occurred in the same building within hours raises questions that need answers," police stated according to the newspaper Khaosod.
