Must-Watch Series for the Midsummer Weekend

Here are the series you should watch during the Midsummer weekend:

'Mobland' (SkyShowtime, ongoing)

A gangster family drama that effectively portrays a handful of characters trapped in a destructive cycle of power lust, hubris, vanity, and folly. Directed by Guy Ritchie for the first two episodes, his signature style is evident. Fans of his work will find 'Mobland' delightful, while others can still enjoy Tom Hardy's restrained performance and the near-pastiche portrayals by Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.

'Beck – The Invisible Man' (TV4 Play, premieres June 21)

A 'Beck' film that is both relaxed and sharp, featuring humor that is rare in the 'Beck' universe. The 'will they or won't they?' dynamic between characters Alex Beijer and Josef Eriksson adds intrigue. 'The Invisible Man', along with 'The Last Day', might become a new favorite among the 'Beck' films since the series reboot in 2015.

'Ann-Marie Chooses Joy' (SVT Play, available)

Twelve short episodes focusing on the main character, known from 'Go'kväll' and the segment 'Make Me Over'. Time has moved on, but Ann-Marie is stuck, receiving tasks from her therapist. Mia Skäringer ensures viewers empathize with Ann-Marie while also enjoying her antics. The series includes scenes reminiscent of Papphammar's quality.

'Bingolotto' (TV4, June 20)

It is what it is, and it will be what it will be. While many might choose to do something else on Midsummer's Eve, 'Bingolotto' continues to air during every holiday, indicating a dedicated audience. Hosted by Lotta Engberg, Daniel Norberg, Casper Janebrink, and Carin da Silva.

'Inspector Rebus' (SVT Play, ongoing)

Not entirely sold, but a series that fits the summer vibe; easy to follow along casually. Ian Rankin's character John Rebus is the central figure, starting with him confronting an old enemy after a gang fight in the street, while his impoverished brother Michael resorts to desperate measures. Richard Rankin stars in the lead role.
