The Norwegian Crown Prince couple gave their son, Marius Borg Høiby, 20,000 NOK for rent and food. However, according to Norwegian VG, it was his girlfriend who paid the rent. Marius Borg Høiby allegedly used the money to buy drugs, the newspaper reports.

Marius Borg Høiby, 28, received 20,000 Norwegian kroner—approximately 19,000 Swedish kronor—from his parents, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.

The money was intended to cover the rent for the apartment in Frogner, Oslo, which he shared with influencer Nora Haukland during their relationship, which ended in spring 2023.

Borg Høiby, Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship, reportedly spent the generous allowance on drugs, according to VG.

His ex, Nora Haukland, is said to have paid the rent.

The Norwegian royal court has not commented on whether Marius Borg Høiby's allowance came from the Crown Prince couple's apanage, writes VG.

Charges Against Marius Announced Today

Since being arrested on suspicion of assaulting his then-partner in August last year, Marius Borg Høiby has been accused of several additional crimes, many of which have been dropped.

Following a police investigation completed in June this year, suspicions remain in 23 cases, with charges including rape, sexual assault, and assault.

Marius Borg Høiby has admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend but denies most of the allegations.

In a statement last year, he blamed his actions on being under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and that he has long struggled with addiction and unnamed diagnoses.

A decision on whether the 'bonus prince' will be prosecuted will be announced at a press conference on Monday afternoon. According to Norwegian media, a trial is expected.
