Liseberg's New Ride 'Kraftverket' Faces Early Shutdown
The excitement was short-lived for Liseberg's new ride. On Saturday, 'Kraftverket' was forced to pause, reports Göteborgs-Posten. However, according to Liseberg's press and communications manager, Clara Rosendahl, this is entirely expected.
The ride 'Kraftverket' is described by Liseberg as this year's 'most dizzying new attraction'.
'Not for the faint-hearted. Or was it the faint-stomached?' the park writes on its website.
At nine o'clock on Friday, the ride made its world premiere. Anticipation was high, with 1,600 people applying to be among the first riders.
But just a day and a half later, 'Kraftverket' stopped functioning. The reason was a bearing that needed replacement.
Liseberg's press and communications manager, Clara Rosendahl, tells Göteborgs-Posten that the stoppage was expected.
– When a new attraction opens, there is a certain break-in period, and this means that stoppages can occur initially. This was also the case with attractions like Helix and Loke, she says.
– The attractions are equipped with rigorous safety systems, and even though I understand that a stoppage in a new attraction might sound concerning, it is primarily proof that the safety system is working exactly as it should.
