Johan Karlsson's Thrilling Adventure in Northern Norway: 'I Just Thought, Shit!'

He surprised many when he decided to vacation in northern Norway. Perhaps Johan Karlsson bit off more than he could chew. During one of the excursions, he feared the worst.

– It was scary, I just thought: shit!

On the field, he works quietly. When it comes to choosing a vacation, Johan Karlsson stands out, having just returned from hiking in northern Norway.

– My friend and I thought, what the heck can we do? We can't go to Asia on such short notice, so what's the most exotic place we can reach quickly? So, we chose Lofoten.

A destination that has sparked mixed reactions among his teammates.

– The leaders showed some pictures from there at the first meeting (after the vacation). Otto (Rosengren) didn't seem too keen, but Taha (Ali) thought it was really cool that I was there anyway. So, a bit of both praise and criticism.

'Maybe It Wasn't So Smart'

The main character himself is impressed by what he saw.

– It was like walking around in 'The Lord of the Rings' among all the mountains. Then maybe it wasn't so smart one day when we went hiking on a mountain that was 600 meters high. We could see about ten meters ahead of us, it was raining, and we had to climb rocks at the same slope as Balder at Liseberg.

– It was scary, I just thought: shit! I just focused on not twisting my ankle or falling down.

Would Rydström have liked to see you there considering the risk of injury?

– Yes, but he seems like a philosopher himself, so he probably would have liked to hike there too. You get a lot of thoughts when you're wandering there, so it was balm for the soul.

If you had been stranded out there in the wilderness, who in the team would you have preferred to have with you?

– I thought of taking Taha because he's good company, but if I have to survive, I think Oliver (Berg). He seems very handy and is from Norway.

Who do you think would have fared the worst?

– I can't say that! But I'll take one of the younger ones then. Kenan (Busuladzic) can take that.
