Jimmie Åkesson Criticizes Political Parties Over Migrant Behavior
In a post on X, Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson expressed satisfaction over the broad condemnation of the Palestinian activists who harassed Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M). However, he directed criticism towards other political parties and media: "This is exactly what you asked for."
In a post on X, Åkesson commented on the highly publicized incident where Carl-Oskar Bohlin was pursued by chanting and shouting Palestinian activists on Monday evening.
All party leaders have condemned the behavior that forced the Civil Defense Minister to return to his workplace as he did not want to reveal his home address to the activists.
"I am glad that there seems to be a broad consensus, among both other politicians and journalists and opinion leaders, against this. Such behavior needs to be condemned broadly and unanimously in a healthy democracy worthy of the name," writes the SD leader in a first post.
Åkesson: "Can't Help But Wonder"
In a follow-up post, he writes:
"But, that said, I can't help but wonder how it suddenly became so obvious to stand up against these foreign forces," writes Åkesson, who argues that such incidents of "threatening and directly un-Swedish dominance behavior" have been everyday occurrences for many Swedes "for decades."
"I can't see how a ten-year-old girl in a schoolyard would be better equipped against threatening harassment than a grown man outside parliament."
He continues to direct criticism towards other political parties and media.
"The fundamental problem, that so many migrants with antisocial, un-Swedish, and generally threatening behavior – simply put, Middle Eastern behavior – have come, is created by exactly the same people, the same parties, the same media who not so long ago were shouting themselves hoarse with outrage whenever someone questioned the prevailing mass immigration and the so-called 'integration' without demands," writes Åkesson, concluding the post with:
"This is exactly what you asked for."
