Summer Heat Returns: Where to Expect the Warmest Weather in Sweden

Summer isn't over yet. Those looking to enjoy sun and warmth can look forward to next week. The heat will strike almost everywhere, but in some parts of the country, there's a high chance of temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius.

Floris and Karl-Heinz have been two of the summer's big names. Within just over a week, storms hit Sweden, disrupting the summer calm for many vacationers.

But now, the summer storms seem to be a thing of the past—at least for the foreseeable future. This weekend, the weather will be quite good almost everywhere, and next week, the warmth will sneak back in.

– By Wednesday and mid-week, it definitely looks like we'll reach 25 degrees in Götaland and eastern Svealand, and it will also be warm far up north, says Johan Groth, meteorologist at Stormgeo.

Where It Could Be Warmest

Temperatures could even climb over 25 degrees and reach up to 27 degrees on both Wednesday and Thursday. Depending on how the wind blows, it's hard to say exactly where it will be warmest, but it will likely be in southern Sweden on the east or west coast.

– It's hard to say if it will be in Gothenburg or just below that gets the highest temperature, or Oskarshamn on the other side. Regardless, congratulations to the southern half of the country. It looks like it will be a really nice August week, says Johan Groth.

Cooler Evenings

However, autumn is slowly approaching, and even though it won't be noticeable in the daytime temperatures, it will likely be felt in the evenings. 25 degrees during the day can be followed by 12 degrees in the evening, so it might be a good idea to bring a sweater if you're going to be out after sunset.

The only part of the country that doesn't seem to get a share of the warmth is the Lapland mountains. Otherwise, it's enough to just step outside if you want to enjoy good weather next week.

– It looks equally nice on both the west and east coasts, so just head to the nearest beach, says Johan Groth.
