Heatwave from Southern Europe to Bring Over 30°C to Sweden
Southern Europe is currently experiencing a significant heatwave. This heat is now moving north, and Sweden will also feel the impact.
"It will be warm and sweaty," says SMHI meteorologist Katarina Andersson.
The heat will reach Sweden on Tuesday and linger through Wednesday, according to SMHI meteorologist Katarina Andersson.
On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to reach around 25°C in the southern and eastern parts of the country. The warmest temperatures, nearing 30°C, are anticipated in eastern Småland.
Even though it won't be as hot as in the south, southern Norrland will also experience high temperatures, according to Katarina Andersson.
"It will be warm and sweaty."
Hottest Areas in the Country
The northern part of the West Coast will have slightly cooler temperatures due to sea breezes.
By Wednesday, temperatures will rise further in the southern and southeastern parts of the country.
For the most dedicated sun worshippers, Katarina Andersson has a tip:
"Those who love sun and warmth should stay in Kalmar County."
Temperatures there are expected to rise above 30°C on Wednesday.
In the area, sensitive risk groups are advised to prepare and be aware of the stress that high temperatures can cause.
When the Weather Changes Again
But those who enjoy the sun should take advantage of it while they can.
On Wednesday, a cold front will move over Norrland, affecting all of Svealand during the day. Cloudiness will increase, and rain is expected over large parts of central Sweden. The unsettled weather is then expected to continue through Thursday and Friday.
