Enjoy the Warm Weekend Weather Before a Chilly Midsummer
The warm weather has arrived in Sweden, with temperatures expected to reach 25 degrees in many areas tomorrow. However, the heat seems to be short-lived, as cooler air is set to move in by Sunday.
"It would have been better if it were midsummer this weekend," says meteorologist Per Holmberg.
Over the weekend, a high-pressure system will move across the country, bringing unusually warm weather for the season.
"On Saturday, it will be sunny across almost the entire country. Temperatures are expected to be around 25 degrees in central and southern Sweden," says Per Holmberg, meteorologist at Stormgeo.
The warmest temperatures are expected in Västra Götaland and the inland areas of southern Norrland, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees.
"Make the Most of It"
Unfortunately, those in Norrbotten might miss out on the great weather.
"There, it won't be more than 15 to 20 degrees, although it might be warmer in the far south," says Per Holmberg.
But the summer heat won't last long. It's advisable to pack swimwear and sunscreen this weekend for those who want to enjoy the weather.
"Make the most of it. On Sunday evening, clouds will move in from the west with showers and possibly thunderstorms in some areas. It's significantly cooler air," says Holmberg.
Midsummer Weather Forecast
The cold front is likely to persist into next week, and to the dismay of heat lovers, midsummer is expected to be relatively cool.
"In the northern parts of the country, the weather is unstable with a risk of rain. Further south, there are better chances of sunshine with temperatures just over 20 degrees at most," says Holmberg.
