"We are utilizing all available resources," said Magnus Schildt, the duty officer at the police, during the night.
Police were alerted to the explosion in Frölunda at 11:57 PM on Sunday night.
"The area is cordoned off, and the national bomb squad is currently on site," said Magnus Schildt, the duty officer at the police, at around 1:30 AM.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into suspected public endangerment, a serious crime.
"We are also searching for the perpetrator or perpetrators involved in this incident," said Magnus Schildt.
No one was injured in the explosion.
"We have several police patrols on site, the national bomb squad is present, and technicians have been called in. We are using all available resources."
At around 4:30 AM, the police announced that all cordons had been lifted and that technicians had completed their work at the scene. However, police remain in the area, conducting door-to-door inquiries.
On Monday morning, police will be present near the crime scene, and "anyone with information or questions is welcome to contact us."
There are no suspects in the case.
