Elon Musk vs. Donald Trump: A Clash of Titans

Musk has been 'humiliated' and will do 'everything he can' to harm Trump, according to a former friend of the tech billionaire. Trump, on his part, says he is considering deporting Musk. 'I don't know, we'll have to look into it,' says the president.

The feud between the former dynamic duo, tech billionaire Elon Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump, flared up again over the weekend.

Ahead of Saturday's Senate vote on Trump's budget proposal, which he calls 'the big beautiful bill,' Musk once again launched a fierce attack on the president.

In a series of posts on X, he labeled the proposal as 'completely insane and destructive' and warned that it would cost millions of Americans their jobs.

Even on Monday, Musk continued to criticize the proposal:

'It's obvious with the insane spending in this proposal – which raises the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS – that we live in a one-party system: the Porky Pig party! It's time for a new political party that truly cares about the people.'

New Threat Against Musk

Trump hit back in a post on Truth Social, mocking Musk for the contributions Tesla and SpaceX have received from the U.S. government.

Without the money, Musk would 'probably have to pack up and go home to South Africa,' Trump wrote in a post, suggesting that the U.S. would save a 'FORTUNE' by cutting subsidies to Tesla and SpaceX.

In response to a journalist's question, Trump also mentioned that he is considering trying to have Musk deported from the U.S., according to the Washington Post.

The president also threatens to send the efficiency agency Doge – which Musk started – after the tech billionaire.

'Doge might be the monster that needs to go back and eat up Elon,' says Trump.

'Trump Doesn't Realize'

Elon Musk's former friend, Austrian neuroscientist Philip Löw, believes the conflict will continue in full force.

'I have had my share of disputes with Elon over the years, and given how well I know him, I truly believe he will do everything he can to harm Trump,' he tells Politico.

Löw and Musk have known each other for 14 years. They previously sat together on the board of Löw's company Neurovigil, before Musk was ousted in 2021 after choosing to leave the company's advisory group.

Löw claims that Musk has been 'humiliated' and that the relationship with Trump is 'truly over.'

'Elon has attracted enough of Trump's supporters to pose a real political threat. He (Trump) doesn't realize the challenge he faces. The only thing he can do to reduce Elon's influence is to actually adopt some of his ideas,' he tells Politico.
