Bohlin Agrees with Åkesson on Immigration Policy Critique

Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) was pursued by shouting pro-Palestinian demonstrators. SD leader Jimmie Åkesson commented, "This is exactly what you asked for," targeting the Moderates' immigration policy. Bohlin now responds.

  • I fundamentally agree with Jimmie Åkesson.

After a party meeting on Monday evening, a group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators followed Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) through Gamla stan. Police are investigating suspected harassment, and Expressen's investigation reveals that several individuals who followed the minister are members of the organization "Together for Palestine," which has expressed support for organizations labeled as terrorist.

The incident has received significant attention and has been condemned by politicians across the spectrum. SD leader Jimmie Åkesson also calls it "tragic" that a minister cannot leave work without facing threatening behavior.

However, in a lengthy post on X on Tuesday evening, Jimmie Åkesson criticizes politicians who suddenly want to take a stand "against these foreign forces."

Bohlin's Response to Åkesson

"The fundamental problem, that so many migrants with antisocial, un-Swedish, and generally threatening behavior – in short, Middle Eastern behavior – have arrived, is created by the very same people, the same parties, the same media who not long ago were shouting themselves hoarse with outrage whenever someone questioned the prevailing mass immigration and the so-called 'integration' without demands," writes Jimmie Åkesson, indirectly criticizing both the Social Democrats' and the Moderates' immigration policies.

Expressen has sought Carl-Oskar Bohlin for comment on the SD leader's statement, to which he responds in a written comment.

  • I fundamentally agree with Jimmie Åkesson, this should not be about me as a person and what I experienced, but about an increasingly common dominance behavior in public spaces that erodes and loosens the Swedish social community, says Bohlin.
