It was shortly after 11 PM on Friday when several alarms were raised about a man assaulting a woman in Malmö. According to the woman, she did not know the man who attacked her.
– It is a woman who has been assaulted by an unknown perpetrator, says Evelina Olsson, spokesperson for the police region South.
The assault occurred in the middle of a residential area.
– The public heard her calling for help, and we received several emergency calls from different people, says Evelina Olsson.
The police have arrested a man in his 30s suspected of attempted murder. The man left the scene on foot but was apprehended in the vicinity.
The woman was taken to the hospital injured but able to speak.
– We have been able to conduct an interview with her at the hospital, says Evelina Olsson.
