A sky-blue final resting place is envisioned by two Center Party members in Malmö. They propose creating burial sites exclusively for Malmö FF supporters, reports Sydsvenskan.
The proposal was presented in the church council in Malmö by the Center Party. The two C-politicians, Rickard Lagerström and Markus Krook, authored the proposal. Unsurprisingly, they are also avid fans of Malmö FF.
The idea is to reserve a section of the Old Cemetery in Malmö for burial sites for MFF supporters. The inspiration comes from Germany, where part of a cemetery in Hamburg is dedicated solely to Hamburger SV fans.
The C-politicians have not yet discussed the proposal with MFF, but Rickard Lagerström believes the club will be on board.
"As long as the club approves the use of their symbols, I see no obstacle at all. The club is forward-thinking and open-minded. So they would probably agree to it. And it's hard to get upset about such a proposal," he tells Sydsvenskan.
He is convinced there is a high demand for sky-blue burial sites.
"There are 20,000 at every MFF match. So I believe there are those who want to remain MFF supporters even after life on earth."
