It was last Friday when 17-year-old Isak Modée and his family stayed overnight at Play Hotel and Gym in Mjölby.
Isak, who trains frequently, decided to visit the hotel's gym. It was Friday evening, and no one else was there except for Isak's mother and a staff member who was cleaning.
At least, that's what they thought. Suddenly, they realized they had company – a snake.
"I hate snakes, so my heart was in my throat," says Isak Modée.
Despite his fear, he took out his phone to film. The video shows the snake slithering under the equipment, and Isak jokes about it doing a bench press.
Removed with a Shoe Horn
Isak's mother found a shoe horn, which the hotel staff used to lift the snake.
Expressen contacted hotel staff who explained that the gym door was open, and they believe the snake entered that way. There is a nearby grove where they released the snake.
The snake is back in the wild, but the gym adventure lives on TikTok, where the video has gained significant attention.
"It's not often you see a snake at the gym. Many people comment that it's gross or joke about it working out," says Isak.
