Unclaimed Eurojackpot: Swedish Winner of 409 Million Kronor Remains a Mystery
The Swedish individual who won 409 million kronor in the Eurojackpot last Friday is still unaccounted for. If Svenska Spel does not reach the person by tomorrow, a home visit is likely.
"I have never experienced anything like this before," says Sofia Hodén, spokesperson for Svenska Spel.
Despite countless calls, the mystery of the person who won 409,505,916 kronor last Friday continues. Over the weekend, Svenska Spel resorted to sending both emails and text messages to the individual.
"We called throughout Friday evening and continued on Saturday, but there can be various reasons why someone chooses not to answer. In that situation, we decided to send both emails and texts asking the person to contact the winner's editorial team," says Sofia Hodén, spokesperson for Svenska Spel.
Home Visit Possible This Week
Svenska Spel had hoped to contact the person by Monday. If they have not reached the individual by Tuesday, a home visit will likely occur soon.
"It will be this week in that case. I have never experienced such a home visit before because it is unusual for me. I have always managed to contact the winners I have sought," says Sofia Hodén.
Svenska Spel asserts that they always eventually contact their winners. It is entirely ruled out that this case will be different, she claims.
"We will eventually reach the winner, but we will see if a home visit is necessary. It has also been vacation time, so it could be someone relaxing on a beach abroad."
The gaming company chooses not to contact the winner's relatives in their search. They will also not release any details about the person until they have made contact.
"We never do that, and it is really because we value our winners. It is personal information we share, so we want to let the winner come to terms with this, as the person probably does not know yet, otherwise they would have reached out."
