Amid ongoing trade tensions, former U.S. President Donald Trump denies seeking a meeting with China's President Xi Jinping, despite recent speculation. Trump insists he would only visit China if invited by Xi, as U.S. and Chinese officials continue trade negotiations in Stockholm.

Trump Denies Seeking Meeting with China's Xi Jinping
The relationship between the USA and China seems to be thawing. Last week, Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of visiting China to meet President Xi Jinping, but now he refutes claims that he wants to initiate such a meeting. "I AM NOT SEEKING anything!" writes the former president.
The USA and China are currently engaged in an intense trade war, following Trump's announcement in March to impose high tariffs on China. Since then, a 90-day tariff pause has been agreed upon.
In recent days, the U.S. Treasury Secretary and China's Vice Premier are meeting in Stockholm to continue tariff negotiations. This is the third meeting between top officials in a few months, with previous meetings in London and Geneva.
This opens up speculation that the USA and China might meet at even higher levels, possibly the highest. Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping have not met since Trump returned to the White House six months ago.
"No Interest"
Last week, Trump mentioned that a trip to China to meet Xi might "not be too far off." He also stated that the USA "gets along very well with China," according to AP.
However, the former president does not want it to appear as if he is initiating a meeting. In a post on Truth Social, he expresses his anger over how the media, which he calls "fake news," reports on the matter.
"It's not true, I AM NOT SEEKING anything! I might go to China, but only if President Xi invites me to a meeting. Otherwise, no interest!" writes the former president.
