Tragic Tractor Accident Claims Young Life in Enviken
On Tuesday, a young child died in a tractor accident in Enviken, north of Falun. The church will remain open on Thursday.
On Tuesday evening, a young child was involved in a fatal tractor accident in Enviken, approximately 30 kilometers north of Falun. According to Falu-Kuriren, the victim was a girl under five years old.
An investigation into involuntary manslaughter is underway, police report. The case is being led by a prosecutor.
Deacon: A Time of Mourning
On Thursday, the church in Enviken will be open in response to the tragic accident.
"It is a tragic accident, and of course, it is a time of mourning. We want to offer the residents here an opportunity to light candles and sit in the church to talk with me or the priest if they wish," says Deacon Emelie Kjellgren.
Many have visited the church during the afternoon, she reports. In advance, the parishes of Svärdsjö, Enviken, and Sundborn announced on Facebook that a priest and deacon would be present in the church between 3 PM and 5 PM. However, when Expressen spoke with Emelie Kjellgren shortly before 6 PM, people continued to arrive.
"As long as people keep coming, we will stay open," she says.
