A devastating fire in a Linköping apartment building has claimed the life of a woman in her 60s. A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated arson. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Shortly before 6 PM on Thursday, a fire broke out in a multi-family building in central Linköping. A woman has died from her injuries.
According to the alert received by police and emergency services, black smoke was pouring out of the residential building. The fire department managed to extinguish the blaze within half an hour.
A woman in her 60s was seriously injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
On Friday morning, it was announced that the woman had succumbed to her injuries.
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated arson.
The cause of the fire is unclear.
"We will investigate this. The affected apartment is cordoned off, and we will conduct a technical examination as soon as possible," said police spokesperson Martina Gradian.
Other residents of the building were able to return to their apartments on Thursday evening.
