Tragic Accident on Södermalm: Cyclist Killed in Collision with Truck

A young woman in her 20s died after being trapped under a truck on Södermalm in Stockholm on Monday. In a statement, the company Binsell confirmed that one of their transporters was involved.

"We ask for understanding and respect for all parties involved in this difficult time," they wrote.

The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at a traffic light on Ringvägen in Stockholm.

A woman, who was cycling, was hit by a truck as the driver was turning. The woman ended up under the truck and was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

The truck driver worked for one of Binsell's transporters, Binsell stated in a Facebook post.

"With great sorrow, we inform you that a serious traffic accident occurred involving one of our transporters in a collision with a cyclist. Unfortunately, the accident resulted in a fatality. The transport was on its way to one of our workplaces on Södermalm," they continued.

"Our thoughts are with the deceased's family and loved ones, as well as, of course, the driver."

Police Investigation

Expressen has contacted Binsell, who declined to comment on the fatal accident.

"We refer to the police and the ongoing investigation," said the company's CEO, Daniele Solito.

The police have filed a report on gross negligence in traffic and causing another's death. Technical investigations and interviews will now be conducted.
