Two men were found dead in an apartment building on Friday evening. The police are not searching for additional suspects and suspect murder and suicide.
Police and ambulance services were alerted on Friday evening about a shooting in Alvesta. A man in his 30s was found dead in the stairwell of an apartment building.
When the police later checked an apartment that became significant in the investigation, they found another dead man in his 30s.
According to information from Smålandsposten, the police suspect it is a murder followed by the suspect taking his own life.
The police report that they found a weapon in the apartment and are not looking for more suspects.
– According to an initial assessment, no more people are involved. But that can change quite quickly, says Patric Fors of the police.
Friend: “Extremely Tough”
A friend of the shot man's family says he received a call about what had happened. He went to the crime scene to support the relatives.
– It was extremely tough when the relatives came out of the house. It felt really hard, he says.
The friend says the 35-year-old worked as a truck driver.
– I don't know anything about any criminal activity, he says.
A neighbor who saw the rescue operation from his window says that the neighborhood is usually very quiet.
– Nothing ever really happens. It's usually very calm, he says.
