The Tidö parties have blocked a request to summon Migration Minister Johan Forssell to a parliamentary committee to address allegations about his son's involvement with far-right groups. The opposition, including the Left Party, Social Democrats, and Green Party, sought to question Forssell following a summer exposé. The decision has sparked criticism and raised concerns about transparency and accountability.

Tidö Parties Block Johan Forssell from Parliamentary Hearing
The Left Party, Social Democrats, and Green Party wanted to summon Johan Forssell (M) to the committee to question the minister about revelations that his son was involved in far-right circles. However, the Tidö parties have now said no.
"A minister not coming to parliament to answer questions only raises more suspicion," says Tony Haddou (V).
The Left Party, supported by the Social Democrats and Green Party, wanted to call Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M) to the social insurance committee to question him about the summer exposé by Expo, revealing that Forssell's son had been active in far-right organizations.
But the Tidö parties in the committee today refused to invite Johan Forssell, according to Tony Haddou, vice chairman of the social insurance committee.
"This has never happened before in our committee. The Tidö parties are deviating from the principle of allowing the opposition to invite a minister to the committee to ask questions," he says.
The Left Party, Social Democrats, and Green Party reserved against the decision.
"This is not just about the minister's son. It's about his conduct in office," says Tony Haddou.
Unanswered Questions
He argues that there are still unanswered questions about the affair, about what the minister knew and didn't know about his son's activities, and what information the minister might have taken home.
"We want all the cards on the table. This is a very serious revelation that hasn't become any less relevant. We haven't heard the minister answer questions except in the TV4 interview, where he gave his perspective."
In TV4's "Nyhetsmorgon," Johan Forssell stated that his son had broken ties with the far-right organizations and that he distances himself from all extremism.
How the parties will proceed remains to be seen.
"We will return to this. We exclude nothing to get answers to our questions. A minister not coming to parliament to answer questions only raises more suspicion," says Tony Haddou.
