Teenagers Hospitalized in Boden: Suspected Vape Poisoning
Two teenagers in Boden are receiving hospital care. According to the police, they are suspected to have been poisoned after using vapes.
– We want to urge parents to talk to their children and teenagers, says Elisabeth Glaas from the police.
On Friday morning, the police in the northern region were informed that two teenagers in Boden are suspected to have been poisoned and are therefore being treated in the hospital.
The police write on their website:
“Unknown, Dangerous Substance”
“There is suspicion that they may have ingested an unknown, dangerous substance after using vapes, electronic cigarettes.”
– We cannot confirm that it is poisoning or that it is vapes, but since there is suspicion, we want to inform, says Elisabeth Glaas, police spokesperson.
She continues:
– We have had previous cases in the region where young people have been taken to the hospital after using vapes.
Police Warning
Elisabeth Glaas cannot provide more details about the teenagers, such as their ages or condition, but the police now want to urge everyone who uses vapes to “be extremely cautious.”
“We wish that guardians have a dialogue with their children and teenagers to inform them that it can be associated with great risks to use these electronic cigarettes if it is not certain what they contain,” the police write on their website.
– If you do not know what these electronic cigarettes contain, think twice before trying them, says Elisabeth Glaas.
An investigation into causing bodily harm has been initiated, but there are no suspects in the case. The vapes of the teenagers involved have been seized for technical examination.
