Teenager Sentenced for Norrköping Murder: A Chilling Tale of Coercion and Crime

Benjamin Liljeberg, 19, entered a car in Norrköping and shot the driver in the head. Later, police found a handwritten list of 'murder rules' in his home. The crime was ordered by his cousin Razmus Bergqvist, 21, and Daniel Shamsizadeh, 26. All three have now been sentenced for their roles in the murder.

The murder occurred on a street in Norrköping in August last year. Benjamin Liljeberg entered a car after deceiving the driver into thinking he was there to buy drugs. Instead, he pulled out a gun and shot the 19-year-old driver in the head.

Liljeberg, who was 18 at the time of the crime, has confessed. He claims he was threatened into committing the murder, believing he would be killed if he did not complete the task. He also states he was under the influence of heavy drugs during the shooting. According to the investigation, he was promised 100,000 kronor for the murder.

In addition to the murder, he is also convicted of serious weapons offenses.

He has previous convictions for several crimes, including violations of knife laws and drug offenses. Liljeberg has a disability that 'may have influenced his actions to some extent,' but not enough to significantly affect the sentence, according to the district court.

Receives Six-Year Sentence Reduction

The sentence for the murder is assessed at 18 years in prison, but since he confessed and provided 'information of significant importance to the investigation,' he receives a six-year sentence reduction. The sentence is twelve years in prison.

Razmus Bergqvist and Daniel Shamsizadeh receive longer prison sentences. They are sentenced to 18 years in prison for instigating the murder. Both have denied the crime and consistently refused to answer questions during the investigation.

Bergqvist, who is a cousin of Benjamin Liljeberg, has previous convictions for about ten crimes. He was also convicted in May for an attempted murder in Finland. Shamsizadeh has also previously committed crimes.

The List Before the Murder

'Both have acted as recruiters in the constellation of other individuals who together and in agreement participated in the extensive and well-thought-out planning of the crime, which occurred entirely according to a method of murder that occurs in gang environments,' writes the district court in its judgment.

In Benjamin Liljeberg's home, police found a handwritten list of 'murder rules' – several points describing how to murder and not get caught. For example, it was written 'Do NOT leave DNA!' and 'Do NOT tell anyone.'

According to Liljeberg, he wrote the note in April 2023 while placed in a Sis home. He says he does not know why he wrote it.
