Teen Found Guilty in Skurup Murder Case
On Wednesday, a court found a teenage boy guilty of the murder of a 56-year-old father of three, who was shot dead in his home in Skurup last summer. Three additional boys were found guilty of related crimes. They also planned to murder the man's two sons, according to the prosecutor.
The teenage boy found guilty of the murder is also deemed responsible for two counts of preparation for murder and one count of weapons offense. The district court simultaneously found three other teenage boys involved in the murder. They were found guilty of aiding and abetting preparation for murder and attempted murder.
Since none of the suspects were of legal age at the time of the crime, the case is a 'bevistalan', used in particularly serious crimes when the perpetrator is under 15 years old.
Ordered by Gang Leader
According to the prosecutor, the murder was revenge for a conflict between the murdered man's son and a criminal network. Specifically, the son allegedly failed to carry out a criminal task he had been given. Last year, a fire was set at the family's neighbor's house, but the court now confirms that the perpetrators targeted the wrong house.
The boys were recruited via social media and had no connection to the victims. They belonged to a criminal group calling themselves the 'Ice Cold Boys', according to the prosecutor.
The murder was allegedly ordered by 27-year-old Ahmed Fawzi, linked to the Foxtrot network. Fawzi has been convicted of crimes in Sweden and deported. He is now internationally wanted and has been detained in absentia for the murder of the 56-year-old man.
According to reports to SVT, he was recently arrested in Iraq.
