The SM week in Norrköping didn't even start before it was over.

Rain halted the individual Swedish Championship final in speedway – much to the surprise of SVT expert Andreas Jonsson.

– It's extremely disappointing and a bit incomprehensible to me. They have worked on the track and there is no precipitation at the moment.

– A blow to the sport, commentator Johan Ejeborg adds.

Drivers were seen leaving the track and awaiting further announcements.

After a while, an announcement came – albeit a gloomy one.

SVT Sport reports that there will be no speedway final at all during this year's SM week. A new final date has not been set, according to the channel.

Smederna's driver Kim Nilsson understood the decision, even though he was disappointed that the final was completely canceled.

– If you're going to have a final, it should be possible to compete for it, with fair conditions and safety for everyone, Nilsson tells SVT.
