An Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Gaza killed around 20 people, including five journalists. Among them was Baraa Lafi, a journalist for Sveriges Radio, who was injured in the attack.
Approximately 20 people were killed in the attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, according to Hamas-controlled authorities.
At least five of the victims were journalists. They include photojournalists Hussam al-Masri and Mohammed Salah, working for Reuters and Al Jazeera respectively, as well as journalists Mariam Abu Dagga, Ahmad Abu Aziz, and Moaz Abu Taha.
Sveriges Radio reports that their journalist Baraa Lafi was injured.
She sustained minor leg injuries, but her colleague, Maryam Abu Daqqa, who worked for AP, is among the journalists reported to have been killed in the attack.
Positioned on the Roof
The journalists were reportedly on the hospital's roof to report when the attack occurred.
Israel's military has confirmed they were behind the attack, which has been condemned by several countries and organizations.
"The killing of journalists in Gaza should shock the world, not lead to a stunned silence without action and demands for consequences and justice," says Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Council, reports TT.
