Swedish Player Wins 409 Million in Eurojackpot: Third Largest in History
A Swedish player has won over 409 million kronor in the Eurojackpot. This win is the third largest in Swedish history.
– Incredible! It's fantastic that we can distribute a jackpot win in Sweden once again, says Filippa Jartén, spokesperson at Svenska Spel Tur, in a press release.
409,505,916 kronor – not a krona more, not a krona less.
This is the amount a Swede won in the Eurojackpot on Friday evening.
– We know that wins of this magnitude change lives. It will be very exciting to see who submitted the winning ticket, says Filippa Jartén.
The winner has not yet been contacted by Svenska Spel, but they say these calls usually lead to both joy and curiosity.
Afterwards, the person will also need to contact the bank.
– It's a win at an entirely unreasonable level! We offer all winners of over 5 million kronor legal and financial advice in connection with the payout. We want people to enjoy their win and feel secure about the future, explains Filippa Jartén.
Third Largest in Swedish History
This is the third largest Swedish Eurojackpot win in history. The most recent jackpot win was in March this year when a Swedish person managed to win 1.25 billion kronor.
– The person in question was in shock. It was shaky. This really hadn't sunk in yet, said Sofie Hodén, spokesperson at Svenska Spel, at the time.
Eurojackpot is a European lottery game where companies in 18 different countries collaborate. To win, you need to match 5 numbers out of 50 possible and 2 out of 12 star numbers. During the draw, 5 numbers and 2 star numbers are drawn.
