Swedish Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin Feels Threatened by Pro-Palestinian Protesters

Sweden's Minister for Civil Defense, Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), felt threatened during an incident yesterday where demonstrators followed him, chanting criticisms of the government's actions regarding the Palestine issue.

The police are investigating the incident from Monday evening when Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin left the parliament building and was pursued by a large number of pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

Carl-Oskar Bohlin told P1 Morgon on Tuesday that he has not filed a police report and is unsure if he will do so.

– It might not be for me to decide if this violates any legal frameworks, he said on P1 Morgon.

However, the police in the Stockholm region reviewed the video the minister posted on social media and have decided to look into it further.

“Falls Outside the Norms of Our Behavior”

The incident is being investigated as harassment.

– A report has been filed afterward, says Rebecca Landberg.

Carl-Oskar Bohlin told P1 Morgon that he estimated having 15-20 people following him.

The demonstrators shouted phrases like “there is a genocide happening” and “shame on you.”

– It is unacceptable that we have a situation where it almost appears like a lynch mob following elected officials so they cannot reach their homes, which I believe fundamentally creates a harmful environment for Swedish democracy.

Carl-Oskar Bohlin shared the video he recorded on the platform X, describing the protesters' behavior as antisocial dominance behavior.

– I think most people understand what I mean when I call it antisocial dominance behavior because it falls outside the norms of how we normally behave towards each other in Swedish society. Of course, people can have different opinions, but when you behave in this way, I believe you have crossed several norms that are cohesive for how we treat each other in Swedish society.
