Late on Saturday evening, Sofie Hodén, spokesperson at Svenska Spel, reached the winner by phone. She says the person is very happy but overwhelmed.
– The winner needs some time to process, so I will call back later.
“Always Exciting”
She says that conversations with winners are always exciting.
– I always get butterflies. Announcing that someone has become a multi-millionaire is incredible.
This time, the person already knew why she was calling.
– The winner was aware of their win. But it's still very special and fun for me, says Sofie Hodén.
The 'Drömvinsten' is the first since April 2024, and the sixth largest ever. Despite this, it is not the largest win she has had to call about. In March, she was tasked with calling the Swede who won 1.25 billion on Eurojackpot – the largest win ever.
– That was truly powerful. I felt a bit seasoned now, after taking that call.
