The UK proposes a coalition to aid Gaza, and Sweden is open to joining. The initiative, similar to the Ukraine coalition, aims to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Swedish Minister Benjamin Dousa expresses support, emphasizing the need for humanitarian access and relief.

Sweden Supports New Global Alliance for Gaza
The United Kingdom is proposing a coalition of willing countries to support Gaza, and the Swedish government is open to the idea.
– The government welcomes the UK's call for a coalition, says Minister for International Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousa (M).
Last Friday, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer delivered a grave speech to the nation, describing the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "utterly terrible" and stating that action is necessary.
To effect real change, Starmer launched a new plan – a "coalition of the willing" to support Gaza.
Similar to the Ukraine Coalition
He likens the initiative to the alliance currently supporting Ukraine.
– This is what we have done with the coalition of the willing in support of Ukraine. And it is what must happen in the Middle East – to build a new international coalition behind a plan to end the suffering, both now and in the long term, says Keir Starmer.
The coalition for Ukraine was formed in March this year, coordinating military support and investments from about thirty countries in response to Russia's aggression. The goal is to eventually create a joint peacekeeping force in Ukraine once a peace agreement is reached.
And one of the countries that may join the Gaza coalition is Sweden.
"Welcomes the UK's Call"
On Sunday, Minister Benjamin Dousa (M) announced that the government is positive about the UK's proposal.
– The government welcomes the UK's call for a coalition to stop civilian suffering in the region and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, he told Expressen.
According to Benjamin Dousa, the situation in Gaza is "extremely urgent," and more needs to be done to support the civilian population.
– Sweden continues to emphasize that the Israeli government must ensure safe and unhindered humanitarian access throughout Gaza.
Regarding the new coalition for Gaza, the government has not yet made any formal decisions.
– We do not yet have detailed information about the content or practical work of the coalition, but I naturally view further steps to end the extensive suffering in Gaza positively.
