Summer Showers: Sweden's Warm Yet Rainy End to the Season

The end of summer seems to be marked by rain. Despite the wet conditions, some areas will experience quite warm temperatures.

A rainstorm is set to sweep across the entire country over the weekend and into the beginning of next week.

– It looks like it will be quite wet. Even though it's warm, there will be a lot of rain, says Josefine Qvarnesjö-Bergstedt, meteorologist at the weather institute Storm.

Currently, it appears to be mostly light, continuous showers.

– It doesn't seem to reach any warning levels, says Josefine Qvarnesjö-Bergstedt.

Where It Will Be Warmest

The warmest temperatures will be in Norrland. The best chance for sunshine is along the northern Norrland coast, up towards Kalix, where temperatures are expected to reach 28-29 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Josefine Qvarnesjö-Bergstedt confirms that the previous month was unusually warm – but now that's over. In the south, temperatures are expected to remain around 20-25 degrees Celsius moving forward.

– We don't see any new heatwaves coming in at the moment. It will be quite normal summer temperatures, says Josefine Qvarnesjö-Bergstedt.
