Storm Floris, currently impacting the UK with severe winds and travel disruptions, is set to reach Sweden by Monday night. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued warnings for strong winds and potential storm conditions, particularly affecting the west coast. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and prepare for significant weather changes, including a drop in temperatures.

Storm Floris Approaches Sweden: Severe Weather Warnings Issued
Storm Floris is currently sweeping across the UK and is expected to reach Sweden by Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.
A deep low-pressure system, named Storm Floris by British weather services, is hitting the UK on Monday, bringing strong winds.
On Monday morning, some train and ferry services have already been canceled, reports BBC, and Scotland's national transport authority warns that road travel will also be disrupted. Several airports, including Edinburgh Airport, are advising travelers to double-check their flights as cancellations may occur due to the storm, writes Sky News.
Storm Disrupts Train Services
A yellow weather warning is in effect for millions in the northern part of the country. The warning zone includes Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, northern Wales, and northern England.
Scotland appears to be the hardest hit, with an amber alert issued from Monday morning, advising residents in affected areas to stay indoors.
Floris Poses a Threat to Life
The strong winds could pose a threat to life, according to the Met Office, as the storm's unusually strong winds may cause high waves and flying debris near beaches, coastal roads, and buildings.
Scottish railway company Scotrail issued a plea on Monday morning for citizens to secure furniture and trampolines that might otherwise be blown away during the storm.
Heavy Rain and Strong Winds in Sweden
For Sweden, a large area of rain and strong winds will reach the southwestern part of the country by Monday evening, moving northeast over Götaland and Svealand overnight and during the day over Norrland.
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued yellow warnings for gale-force winds at sea in Skagerrak and Kattegat on Monday, where winds are expected to reach storm strength in gusts.
"The wind will gradually increase during the day and evening today. But from tomorrow morning, we will have the strongest winds. It could reach storm gusts at Vänern and the northern West Coast," says meteorologist Johan Groth at the weather institute Storm.
And it will be windy.
"There will be a strong pull in the storm over the West Coast, with the windiest conditions mainly in southern Gothenburg and northwards," says Johan Groth.
"If you live on the West Coast up to the areas where warnings are in place, you need to be careful and watch out as trees might fall. A tarpaulin or furniture could certainly blow around if not secured properly."
The wind will persist throughout the day tomorrow, until the evening, and it will be windy across the country, although it will be worst on the West Coast. Wednesday will also be very windy across the country, but especially in southern and central Sweden, says Johan Groth.
Colder Weather Ahead
The deep low-pressure system and strong winds will affect the temperature, and we can expect lower temperatures than in recent weeks.
"There will be a significant temperature difference compared to the warm weather we've had. Tomorrow it will still be over 20 degrees along the east coast, but no more than 15 to 18 degrees in the rest of the country, and these are also the temperatures expected across the country on Wednesday. So it could be ten degrees lower than we've been used to in recent weeks," says Johan Groth.
