Son's Disturbing Call: 'I Think I've Murdered My Mother'

Last spring, a woman in her 60s was brutally attacked in her apartment, nearly losing her life. Her son called emergency services, saying, "I think I've murdered my mother," reports Norrbottens-Kuriren.

The call was made in early April, and when police arrived at the residence, the man, in his 30s, refused to let them in. Eventually, they had to break the balcony window to enter, encountering the intoxicated and violent son. The arrest was captured on police body cameras.

The woman sustained severe injuries, including a head hemorrhage and fractures, and was taken to the intensive care unit in Umeå.

The man is now charged with attempted murder and threats against officials at Luleå District Court, reports Norrbottens-Kuriren.

'He Was Like a Predator'

A knife with the son's DNA was found outside the residence. In the emergency call, the man claimed to have stabbed his mother, something he couldn't recall during police questioning.

"Did I do that? That's crazy," the man said during interrogations, according to the newspaper.

A friend of the man described him as "completely insane" earlier that day.

"He was like a predator. A guy like him should be locked up forever," the friend said in questioning.

The daughter had also warned the mother about his violent behavior, and witnesses reported that he expressed hatred towards women.

The woman has no memory of that evening and finds it hard to believe her son harmed her. However, she mentioned that he had been obsessed with knives since childhood.

The man has neither admitted nor denied the crime.
