Slovak Forward Oliver Okuliar Joins Skellefteå AIK

Skellefteå AIK has signed a contract with Slovak forward Oliver Okuliar, the club announced on Thursday.

A month ago, Expressen revealed that Skellefteå AIK had reached an agreement with Oliver Okuliar.

The 25-year-old forward comes from the Florida Panthers' affiliate team, the Charlotte Checkers, who recently played in the AHL final. During the season, he was one of the team's top scorers with 19 goals and 22 assists in 61 regular-season games.

"I felt there was strong interest from Skellefteå, which was very exciting. Everything they told me felt right, and I got positive vibes immediately," says Okuliar.

The contract extends over two seasons.

"We have watched him quite a bit, and he has had good seasons in the Czech Republic before coming to North America. He is at a good age and has a lot of experience. He is a very intense player who works hard and wins a lot of pucks. He is also effective around the opponent's goal and can set up plays. But what stands out the most when you see him is his hard work and ability to win pucks," says Skellefteå's general manager Erik Forssell.
