Six Hospitalized After Collision
Shortly after 9 PM on Sunday evening, police and ambulance services were alerted to a country road outside Kungsbacka, south of Gothenburg. A car had, for unclear reasons, crossed into the wrong lane and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Six people have been taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Two of the hospitalized individuals are reportedly small children. The condition of all involved is currently unknown.
The alarm about the accident was received at 9:19 PM, and both police and ambulance were dispatched to the scene. One of the cars, for unclear reasons, crossed into the wrong lane and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
"The assessment is that one of the cars crossed to the wrong side of the road, causing a collision," says duty officer Magnus Schildt.
In one car, three young adults in their 20s were traveling, and in the other, a man with his two children.
Preliminary Investigation Launched
A preliminary investigation into aggravated drunk driving, gross negligence in traffic, and causing bodily harm has been initiated. A couple of interviews have been conducted at the hospital, according to Schildt, and more will follow. It is unclear if anyone is suspected of a crime.
"We are investigating the crimes listed, but I don't know if the patrol has had time to notify anyone of suspicion yet," says Magnus Schildt.
"At the moment, we can't say much more – it is quite a recent incident."
The police are no longer at the accident site, and the cars have been seized for technical examination.
