Russian Military Base Exposed by Toilet Sign Blunder
A toilet sign on Russian TV led to the exposure of the Rubicon drone base near Moscow, potentially making it a target for new attacks.
One of Vladimir Putin's most loyal TV personalities, Vladimir Solovjov, accidentally revealed the location of Russia's most advanced drone base due to an ordinary toilet sign, reports The Sun.
In a segment on state-run Russian TV, the sign appeared uncensored in the background, leading to significant consequences.
Analysts quickly determined that the secret headquarters, Rubicon, is located in Hall D and parts of Hall C in the Patriot Expo area just outside Moscow.
Exposed by a Sign
By comparing images from an earlier expo at the same location, analysts pinpointed the exact location of Rubicon.
Rubicon serves as a hub for the development and testing of new drones, operator training, and unit control at the front. Local Russian media have described the center as crucial for the defense of the Kursk region.
Warnings have been issued that the site could become a target for new Ukrainian drone attacks, having already been subjected to precision strikes.
Blow to Russian Military
The mistake has dealt a severe blow to the prestige of the Russian army. Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, who was central to Rubicon's development, is expected to be held accountable, writes The Sun.
The fact that Solovjov, a known propagandist on state TV, was behind the revelation adds to the embarrassment for the Kremlin.
