Royal Family's Active Summer: Roller Skiing and Jogging
Snow and ski tracks may seem distant in the Swedish July heat, but Prince Carl Philip is already preparing for the winter season on roller skis. Crown Princess Victoria is also staying active during her vacation, taking jogging rounds on Alvaret.
Crown Princess Victoria's birthday, Victoria Day, is celebrated grandly at Solliden Palace. It also marks the beginning of the royal family's much-anticipated summer vacation, where everyone gathers on Öland for relaxation and quality time.
Prince Carl Philip, 46, is already looking forward to colder temperatures and groomed tracks in powder snow. The prince has been seen skiing on the roads around Borgholm on roller skis—naturally with a helmet on and poles in hand.
Prince Carl Philip is an enthusiastic cross-country skier and has participated in the Vasaloppet as well as several side events like Skejtvasan and Stafettvasan. He has also been seen at the helm of one of the family's boats, steering out into Kalmarsund with children and nieces and nephews.
Alongside Prince Carl Philip was cousin Leopold Sommerlath, 23, son of Queen Silvia's nephew Patrick Sommerlath, who, along with twin sisters Chloé and Anaïs, 17, participated in Victoria Day.
Crown Princess Victoria's Running Routine
Crown Princess Victoria, 48, also takes the opportunity to train during the vacation, enjoying a run on Alvaret, which borders the Solliden Palace area.

In a white top and black shorts—and with bodyguards at a safe distance—she was seen on Thursday morning taking a jog. The crown princess maintained her pace and stride with headphones in her ears as she navigated the terrain.
Prince Daniel enjoys playing golf in his spare time and was a regular at the nearby Ekerum Resort during this year's Victoria Golf. Daniel, 51, played in the same group as golf legend Jesper Parnevik, who has visited Öland several times to play a round with the prince.
