King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia have added a new companion to their family, reports Svensk Damtidning. The new puppy has just moved into Drottningholm Palace.

For eleven years, the King and Queen have enjoyed the company of their Bavarian Mountain Hound, Brandie. Now, they have welcomed a new puppy of the same breed—Bonnie.

This breed is relatively rare in Sweden and is known for being excellent search dogs. Both dogs come from the same breeder.

"A welcome new little family member for the King and Queen and a friend for Brandie," says the Royal Court's Information Chief, Margareta Thorgren, to Svensk Damtidning.

The name Bonnie is inspired by one of the royal couple's favorite artists—Bonnie Tyler.
